CONNECTIONS
The Edmonton Broadcasters Club
Jon Pearkins: "I am currently working on a Prototype of this Web site with the impossible task of trying to document ever broadcaster who ever worked in Edmonton. We are exploring a partnership between the club and the current sponsor of the site, the Vancouver-based radio discussion forum, RadioWest. When this partnership is in place, we are going to seriously look at providing the capability of searching for everyone who worked at a specific station during a special period of time."John Barton tipped up to some serious radio nostalgia from SPARC (The Society for the Preservation of Antique Radio in Canada) Vintage Radio Museum in Coquitlam:

FUN STUFF
The Fedora Lounge
A great discussion community for all those with a sense of style and a love for vintage fashion, especially hats. Check out their excellent section on vintage radio.'THE LAST SUPPER' TRAVELS THE INTERNET
A new process lets you view an extraordinary high definition image of Leonardo Da Vinci's 15th century masterpiece "The Last Supper" at a stunning resolution of 16 billion pixels (1,600 times stronger than the images taken with the typical 10 million pixel digital camera). You can look at details as though you were inches from the art work, in contrast to regular photographs, which become grainy as you zoom in.THE GREAT JUKEBOX
As you will see when you click on this site, there is a Jukebox- but it is no ordinary jukebox.
It will play all of your favourite songs from 1950 through 1982. Each year has a scroll or drop down box that shows all the great songs for that year. Most years have over 40 songs.
Once you click on a song it will play and when it finishes it automatically plays the next song in the list and continues until it has played all the songs.
It has a volume control which you should use in conjunction with your computers volume control
One of the best features is that it will play in the background. That means you can be doing other computer work on a different screen. For those are not too familiar, just open this Jukebox, start a song list playing THEN open another window in your Browser and use that window to surf the net or whatever, while the music plays. I set it up on my desktop as a favorite so all I have to do is click on it and it opens automatically.Bad MOVIE GUIDE
Self-described as "A website to the detriment of good film," this website offers a safe place to indulge in your more unsavory cinematic tastes. Badmovies.org is a review website dedicated to grade "B" and below movies. Run to this handy B-movie guide to find out how to stop the giant man-eating grasshoppers who are attacking Chicago! Get ratings and guides on everything cheesy.MUSIC: A THING OF BEAUTY
Located on the campus of the University of South Dakota, the National Music Museum is not only a repository of more than 13,500 American, European and non-western instruments from all cultures and historical periods, it also contains an extensive library of books, photos, sound recordings and other memorabilia. Take a look around the website and see examples of unique instruments including bowed, brass, electronic, reed, keyboard, percussion, stringed, woodwind and more.ANTIQUE CORSETS
The Antique Corset Gallery presents a tour through 250 years of rigid undergarments that kept the ladies' waists slim and put the "girls" right where the gents could see them. The gallery explores the shape, fabric, color, construction and evolution of undergarments from the 1700's to the early 20th Century. At this site you can click on images of corsets to get a larger image, along with details and a history of the individual corsetry and under supports shown. Why is this site included? Well, you've prolly never thought much about antique corsets, have you? Prolly never thought much about Eva Braun's underwear either. Now you you can learn all about both and have some new topics for conversation at those otherwise ho-hum bridge games.
